QUEENSBURY – Kathryn M. Jones, 93, of Queensway, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her home.
Born on June 10, 1931, in Kingsbury, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clarence E. and Blanche (Scaife) Jones.
Kathryn graduated from Otego Central High School in Otego and then for three years attended the Practical Bible Training School in Johnson City, NY. She later received her RN from the Memorial Hospital, Roxborough School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA in 1955.
In 1956, Kathryn returned to Glens Falls and for 36 years, she worked as an RN at the Glens Falls Hospital. For over 20 years, Kathryn was an infectious disease nurse, retiring in 1992.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, where she sang in the choir and was a deaconate. Kathryn also belonged to the Kingsbury Baptist Women’s Missionary Society and the Christian Women’s Club of Glens Falls.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John Paul Jones and her sisters, Martha Mae Jones, Arloween Keller Carmilla Ritchey and Grace Fabian.
Survivors include her sister, Mary Macie of PA; and her very close friends and adopted families, Dan Rosick, the Hitchcock’s and Saville’s of Kingsbury.
Calling hour will be on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, 118 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
The Funeral Service will follow the calling hour at the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, with Pastor Mark, officiating.
Burial will be in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
Bearers will be Russell, Peter, Matthew, Nathan Saville and Dan Rosick, whom Kathryn thought of as her children.
