June M. MacPherson

SOUTH GLENS FALLS – June M. MacPherson, 77, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Elderwood in North Creek, following a courageous battle with dementia.

Born on June 14, 1947, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Thelma (McGann) Blackmer.

June was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School in Glens Falls.

For many years, June was employed at the Aviation Mall as a Security Guard.

She enjoyed camping and being with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Buster, Bobby, Kenny and Paul; her sisters, Emma, Irma, Ethel and Shirley; her granddaughter Allison Marie Palmer; her husband, James MacPherson, Sr. and her longtime companion, John Smith, Sr.

She is survived by her children, Tracey MacPherson of Pennsylvania, James and Lisa Jo MacPherson, Jr. of Florida, Sabrina and Rick Monroe of Brant Lake and John and Shannon Smith, Jr. of South Glens Falls; her 12 grandchildren, Paul, Josh, Jimmy, Jenna, Tara, Brandon, Carley, Ashlynn, Tyler, Kayla, Kameron and Jesse; 18 great grandchildren; her siblings, Marlene, Betty, Anna Mae, Richard and Ida; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be celebrated 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

    Fly high June as we live among hate hurt lies and bull s. As always you knew how to overcome all of these and hit it straight on.     💕 You were a women of many words straight forward and to the punt! Wasn’t afraid to tell you how she felt of you or what was said. So much hate, hurt and she knew how to solve it. It’s too bad you didn’t have what was needed when you needed it. I’ll miss buying you your weekly groceries. Fly high June James is a happy man again and so isn’t John.
