HUDSON FALLS – Mark D. Mallaney, 41 of Forest Street, passed away Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on April 9, 1983, in Glens Falls, he was a life-long area resident and son of Ross N. Mallaney and the late Gwendolyn (Lydecker) Mallaney.
Mark grew up in Hudson Falls and attended Hudson Falls Schools. He stayed busy in his work life, putting his time in at several jobs including Angio Dynamics in Queensbury, the Target Distribution Center in Wilton and his last job, a line cook at Texas Roadhouse. Mark loved baseball and was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed playing the game and participated in several area leagues. Mark would often wear different sneakers on a regular basis and had a large collection of them.
In addition to his mother, he is predeceased by a brother, Ross Mallaney, Jr.
He is survived by his father, Ross Mallaney of Hudson Falls; his sister, Angela Mallaney (David Robertson) of Hudson Falls; and many nieces and nephews, including Casey, Alexis, and Ryan Parker, Sophia and Hailey Wright; and great niece and nephew, Amma and Jaxson Gonzalez.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Hudson Headwaters as well as everyone at Saratoga Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
Mark and I worked together at recovery sports center in Queensbury. He was always so happy and easy going and he light up a room with his outgoing and goofy personality. He was always such a thoughtful person especially on holidays. I remember one mother’s day, he sent in chocolate covered strawberries to all the girl servers who were stuck working. The card had no name on it, only the quote “If your not first, your last”. We instantly knew it was from him, even though he tried to deny it. Mark was a good friend and only upon knowing me for a week, took me out to have a drink after work as I was having issues at home. His intent was for me to take a break from my issue at the time and lend an ear for advice and comfort. I will never forget how much he cared about me, being a complete stranger, and eager to make a friendship. I am so sorry to hear the awful news of his passing and only hope he is at peace and no longer suffering. My condolences goes out to his family and the people who loves him. My heart is with you all during this difficult time.
