SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Wayne H. Tanner, 76, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a long illness.
Born on August 18, 1936, in Granville, he was the son of the late Harmond and Myrtle (Holcomb) Tanner.
Wayne was a graduate of Granville High School and served with the United States Air Force, in Korea.
On April 6, 1979, he married Dorothy Wildey in Argyle.
Wayne was employed for 31 years at Nibco in South Glens Falls.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, vacations and gardening. Wayne was a family man and will be greatly missed by them.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a stepson, Michael Brayman, a granddaughter, Crystal Brayman and his infant grandson, Joseph Brayman Wayne is also predeceased by a sister Shirley Prehoda.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Dorothy Tanner of South Glens Falls; his children, Brenda Brayman of MA, James Brayman of South Glens Falls, Wanda Huntington and her husband, AJ III of Fort Edward, Teresa Brayman of Hudson Falls, Stephen Brayman, Jr., of South Glens Falls, Nancy Hunt and her husband, Brian of South Glens Falls, Rebecca Smith and her husband, James of Fort Edward and Stephanie Floutin of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Christina Peelor, Jason Brayman, Aaron Johnson, Timothy Brayman, Matthew Brayman, Shelby Brayman, Logan Brayman, Stephen Brayman, John Snow, Jr., Kristy Knapp, Adam Brayman, Amanda Smith, Michael Smith and James Smith; several great grandchildren; his brother, Ronald Tanner of Granville; a sister, Linda Parillo of Wilton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls will hold services at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Gansevoort Cemetery, with full military honors, provided by The Hudson Falls American Legion Post # 574.
