HUDSON FALLS – Theresa R. (LaFountain) White, 87, a long time Vaughn Road resident, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born July 19, 1927, on LaBarge St. in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Doris (Constantineau) LaFountain.
Theresa was a 1945 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. Thirty three years later she received her RN degree from Adirondack Community College.
Her husband, Raymond White died in 1985.
She worked as a teacher’s aide at BOCES and then did nursing work at Saratoga Hospital and the former Wilton Developmental Center. She retired in 1993.
Theresa was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls. She was active in the Bereavement Group, RICA and was an Eucharistic Minister.
She enjoyed watching her family grow.
In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Thomas White, two brothers, Bill LaFountain and Dick LaFountain two sisters-in-law, June LaFountain and Sue LaFountain all passed away before her.
She is survived by four sons, Michael White and his wife, Gail, of Las Vegas, NV, Dick White of Glens Falls, Jack White and his wife, Janice of Midlouthian, VA and Joseph White and his wife, Stacie; one daughter, Kathy Stewart and her husband, Tim of South Glens Falls; 10 grandchildren, Kelly Andrews and her husband, Chris, Courtney, Michael, and Leah White, Rebecca Hermey and her companion Brian Lounsbury, Nathaniel, Thomas and Samantha White and Katie Mound and William Mound and his wife, Amanda; her great grandchildren; Jon, Joe, Adrianna, Isabella, Nicholas, Logan, Kayleigh, Aiden, Harrison, Ellie, Sophia and Lily; one great-great grandchild, Owen; five step grandchildren, Matthew and Mark Stewart, Paige Jensin, Brian Vaughn and Brooke Merlow; one sister, Mary Corlew of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 on Monday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch , pastor, officiating.
The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

I have so many happy memories with Aunt Theresa that will live within my heart forever.

She was an AMAZING WOMEN.I will MISS her forever.Another part of my heart seems to be gone now. She always seemed to have a Smile on her face. She had a GREAT laugh.We’d be at Lunch with Aunt Mary and she would laugh so hard she would have tears running down her Face.Love her So Much.
Mrs. White was the kind of person when you met her for the first time you liked her right away. Her friendly smile and gracious manner warmed you to her. I am glad to have known her.
My condolences to the family of this most blessed lady. I never knew she was related to Lafountains. Wish I had known. My brothers and I were great pals with Dick.Theresa has been doing things for our soup kitchen for a long time.She used to bring me her left over ham bones to make soup, or she would make it for me.I just loved her and I will miss our notes to each other so very much. She is with the angels now as she is a beautiful one.
She was my godmother and I can say that she was the true definition of that title. I was blessed and so grateful to have her in my life.
