GLENS FALLS – Robert M. Witherell, 51, of East Boylston Street, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at his home.
Born on February 8, 1962, he was the son of Patricia St. Clair and the late Robert Witherell.
Robert was a 1981 graduate of South Glens Falls High School.
On September 24, 1988, he married Dawn Miner in South Glens Falls.
Robert worked for many years for Wheels, later known as Advance Auto in Hudson Falls. He loved watching baseball and was a huge NY Yankee Fan. He was a history buff and enjoyed trains. Most of all he was a family man, who enjoyed spending time with his children and family. For the past few years, he enjoyed many adventures cruising around town in his wheelchair.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Eleanor Gaulin and Raymond Gaulin and his sister, Laura Kapsa.
Robert is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dawn Witherell of Glens Falls; his children, Meagan Witherell of Glens Falls and Bobby Witherell of Glens Falls; his mother Patricia St. Clair and her husband, Philip of Florida; his brother and sisters, Mary Witherell-Jones of Greenwich, Melissa Leombruno of Gansevoort, Julie Lefebvre and her husband, Paul of Maine and Daniel Kapsa and his wife, Christine of Gansevoort; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles.
Friends may call from 10 to 1 p.m. on Saturday, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home, with the Reverend Thomas Babiuch, officiating.
The Rite of committal will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
In lieu of flowers , Robert’s family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 959 State Route 9, Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804.
