HUDSON FALLS – Wilma M. Haynes, 72, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on August 7, 1944 in Kingsbury, she was the daughter of the late Harlon and Dorothy (Christian) Haynes.
Wilma was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School and later in life, continued her education to become a nurse’s aide. She was very proud to have worked as a nurse’s aide at Fort Hudson Nursing Center for over 10 years. She made many friends with the residents and the people she worked with.
Wilma loved riding motorcycles, she totaled two. After that, her children forbid her to ride any longer. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles, and spending time with her family and the girls at Earl Towers. Wilma also enjoyed her weekly visits to Manley’s and was an avid Yankee’s fan.
Besides her parents, Wilma was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Haynes and Dora Haynes and her brother, Raymond Haynes.
Survivors include her four daughters, Barbara Kent of Hudson Falls, Cindy Hurley and her husband, Fred of Fort Edward, Nancy Wells and her husband, Michael McPherson, of Hudson Falls, Peggy Wells of South Glens Falls; her six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six brothers, Edmund Haynes and his wife , Pat, Richard Haynes and his wife, Judy, Lloyd Haynes and his wife, “Petey”, Boyd Haynes and his wife, Linda, Ronald Haynes and Howard Haynes and his wife, Holly; her sister, Linda Shapiro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
