LAKE GEORGE – Lorraine V. Willette, 85, of Ledgeview Dr. passed away at the Glens Falls Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.
Born on Dec. 5, 1928, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Colburn) Willette.
Lorraine was a 1946 graduate of Hudson Falls High School.
She began her career in the personnel department at Union Bag and Paper Co. which became Arkell and Smiths, formerly in Moreau. After working a total of 19 years for those companies, Lorraine worked 27 years as a secretary for Kamyr, Inc. of Glens Falls, which became Ahlstrom.
For many years, she was a Hudson Falls resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, until moving to Lake George. After moving, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.
Her enjoyments included reading, sewing and embroidery. Lorraine also loved going to restaurants, being around family and friends. She was full of joy and laughter and loved going for walks, and a day full of sunshine.
In addition to her parents, her sisters, Betty LaPierre and Joan T. Willette and her brother, Gerald L. Willette, Sr., also died before her.
Survivors include six nephews, Gerald L. Willette, Jr. of Fort Ann, Peter M. Willette of South Glens Falls, Paul Willette of Albany, Thomas Willette and his wife, Diane, of Albany, John Willette and his family of Texas and Bruce LaPierre and his wife, Nancy and their family, of Queensbury; two nieces, Mary Dodgen and her husband, John, of Sand Springs, OK and Bernadette Harrow, and her husband, Jack, of NC; and many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends are welcome to call from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. at 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren Street in Glens Falls.
The Rite of Committal will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
