HUDSON FALLS – Charles O. Webster, 79, lost his courageous battle with cancer on February 9, 2014. He went home with Jesus, with his family by his side.
Charles was the son of the late Harold Webster and the late Dorothy Anderson.
His high school class of 1953 recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country for three years.
Charles worked at NIBCO in South Glens Falls for 35 years and after “retirement” spent nine years in the hardware department at Wal-mart.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his family, loved hunting in the Adirondacks and as a man with a great sense of humor.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, his step-father, Floyd Anderson, his wife, Jane of 47 years and his sister, Marcia.
Survivors include his children, Kelly Miller and her husband, Stan and Christopher Webster and his wife, Tina; his six grandchildren, Bethany, Ben, Jacob, Cambrie, Kaylin and Jonathan, who called Charles “Baka”. He was thrilled to become a great grandfather to twins, Isaac and Laurien. He also leaves behind his four sisters, Bev Eltilhorpe, Sharie Anderson, Nina Behan and Marion Clements; his brothers, Robert Webster, William Webster, Phillip Anderson and Donald Anderson; his two very special friends, Vicky Mumblo and Chet Stone; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Durkeetown Baptist Church in Fort Edward.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, following the calling hours at the church.
Burial will be in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
Memorial donations may be made to The Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.
Arrangements are under the care of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
