QUEENSBURY – Virginia “Ginny” Legault, 94, of Queensbury, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Slate Valley Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Granville.
Born on September 4, 1924 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Lyon) Serge.
Ginny was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.
She married her first husband, Alfred Polunci, in October of 1946. He passed away in 1976.
On September 14, 1984, she married Bernard Legault at St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls. They have been married for 34 wonderful years.
For 50 years, Ginny has worked in the insurance business. She has made many good friends while being employed at the Glens Falls Insurance Company. Retiring while she was in her 70’s, Ginny began her love of painting. She created beautiful pictures that have become treasures to her family and friends. Ginny loved people and always enjoyed going to parties and dancing. She was an easy-going lady, who was so enjoyable to be around. Because of her outgoing spirit, Ginny loved to travel the world, meeting new people and enjoying different cultures.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Susan White, her sister, Lillian Legault and her brother, David Serge.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Bernard Legault of Queensbury; her son, George Polunci and his wife, Carol of Granville; her grandchildren, John Polunci and his wife, Kim, Stacy Long and her husband, Justin, Marie White and Kenneth White, Jr.: her step children, Peter Legault and his wife, Margaret of Raleigh, NC, Nora Hogan of Cape May, NJ and Virginia Campbell and her husband, Jeffrey of Rutland, VT; several step grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special appreciation to Ginny’s “adopted” daughter, Chris Spina, for all her love and care. Many thanks to the entire staff at the Orchard Nursing Home (Slate Valley Center) for all their continuous care.
Friends may call on from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
A Funeral service will follow the calling hours at 5 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The Rite of Committal will betake place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
