Paul Andrew Reece, Sr.

HUDSON FALLS – Paul Andrew Reece, Sr., of Hudson Falls, passed away unexpectedly at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.

Born on April 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Orel and Della Reece.

Paul was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School in 1955, where he loved playing sports.

He met his future wife at a roller rink.  Paul was a professional rollerskater, who won many medals and trophy’s while living in Buffalo.  He married the love of his life, Dawn Corlew on November 17, 1956.

After moving to this area, Paul began his working career at Glens Falls Insurance Company in data processing.  He continued his career in data processing at Native Textiles, formerly in Glens Falls as Manager of the computer division, retiring in 1997.

Along with his wife, he was a man of deep faith.  Paul was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  They never missed a Sunday service, even while traveling, he checked where services were being conducted.

Paul loved playing golf with his friends and when he was younger, enjoyed bowling in a league. Every morning, Monday through Friday at 7 a.m., he went to McDonald’s to have coffee with his friends.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family.   He deeply loved his grandson and great grandchildren and loved every minute he spent with them.  He was a fantastic, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nine brothers and sisters.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Dawn Reece of Hudson Falls; his son, Paul Reece, Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Gansevoort; his grandson, Jeffrey Reece and his wife, Vicki of South Glens Falls; his great grandchildren, identical twins, Makenzie and Kendra Reece, Eva Reece and Keene Reece, all of South Glens Falls; his brother in law, Edward Corlew, Jr. and his wife, Michelle of Hudson Falls and their children, Sean, Michael and Kimberly and their spouses; several cousins; and many close friends that he considered family.

There will be no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on the Park in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery.
