HUDSON FALLS – Philip J. Winslow, 75, of Quarry Crossing, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, August 30, 2014.
Born on October 4, 1938 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Buell and Lillian (Terrio) Winslow.
Philip was very proud to have received his high school diploma and also to have served his county in the United States Navy.
On March 10, 1968, he married Janet Jessey in Hudson Falls. They have enjoyed 46 wonderful years of marriage.
For 38, years, Philip worked at The Post Star, retiring as a circulation supervisor. He loved his job because it gave him the opportunity to meet many people and to make many friends.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and a member of the Glens Falls Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge # 81.
Philip loved his motorcycle, but most of all he cherished his granddaughter, Krystal and his entire family. He enjoyed his life and took great pleasure in laughing and making others smile. Philip was also very proud of his home, his yard and his pool and delighted in making sure they were in tip top shape.
Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by his four sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janet Winslow of Hudson Falls; a son, Kenny Winslow and his wife, Dawn of Hudson Falls; his granddaughter, Krystal Winslow of Hudson Falls; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many wonderful friends.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 959 Route 9, Mount Royal Plaza, Queensbury, NY 12804.
