HUDSON FALLS – Patrick L. Aurelia, 49, of Hudson Falls, passed away unexpectedly from complications due to diabetes on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
Born on March 13, 1966, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late David A. and Virginia “Jinny” Aurelia-Johnson.
Patrick was a 1985 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and received his degree from Adirondack Community College and also earned a certificate in draftsmanship from Hudson Valley Community College. During his life, Patrick worked as a computer operator at Pay Chex and later, as a draftsman.
Patrick spent many hours playing computer games. But, spending time with his family and friends was most important to him. Patrick was very proud to have studied Tao Kwan Do when he was younger. Patrick also was an excellent photographer and created a beautiful moon mosaic. He was also a cat lover and owned many special felines throughout his life. Patrick was well known for his delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies and his wonderful sense of humor. Anyone that has ever taken a ride with Patrick, could attest that he was the slowest driver known to man. He was also very much in touch with his inner nerd and exhibited this by watching the Hobbit and Star Wars, over and over.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Aurelia and his grandparents.
He is survived by his sister Elizabeth “Betsy” Parker and her husband, Joe of Queens; his aunt Edith Heeber and her daughter and son, Taryn Heeber-Doody and Billy Heeber; his niece, Megan Aurelia; and his nephew, William Aurelia.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Rite of Committal will follow the calling hours at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
In lieu of flowers, Patrick’s family would like memorial donations be sent to the American Diabetes Association, Pine West Plaza Building 2, Suite 204, Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, New York, 12205.
Patrick was an organ recipient and wanted everyone to give the gift of life and be an organ donor.
