Helen E. Omiecinski

Omiecinski, HelenHUDSON FALLS – Helen E. Omiecinski, 93, of Hudson Falls, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on March 4, 1925 in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Richard Stockwell and Mildred (Parker) Stockwell.

Helen was married to the love of her life, John R. Omiecinski for most of her life.

She was a true homemaker, she enjoyed staying busy baking, canning, garage sales and watching her programs.  Helen was a always a caregiver, she would take people into her home and always had a hot meal to share.  She was always looking out for everyone else.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John R. Omiecinski, her only child, Nancy C. Martin, who passed away in April of 2018, her brothers, Carlton, Jack, William, her sister, Gladys Stockwell and her nephew, Martin Stockwell.

Helen is survived by her granddaughters Carol Martin (Chip Pregent), Jamie (Richard) Wilson, and her grandson John (Debbie) Martin, all of whom will miss her greatly. She was blessed with numerous great grandchildren; Joslyn (Mark) Brown, Brandi Gitto, Paul Wilson, Jackie (Matt) Benedetti, Daniel Needham, Ashley Martin, Ryan (Marissa) Martin, Chaz Wilson, Brian Martin, Kevin Martin and Jakob Pregent; her great great grandchildren who loved her deeply, Marky, Raelyn, Leilla, Daniel, and Ryan; her brother, Robert (Ann) Stockwell; She also had many nieces, nephews, cousins; and her family from Waterbury, Connecticut. Helen thought the world of her nephews, Phil Omiecinski and Adam Omiecinski.

The family would like to thank her aides, Cindy, Kathy and Julie, who where a great comfort to her the last year of her life, and to Maureen Wall, Dr. Peter Gray and Dr. Robert Beaty for their care and compassion.

A graveside service will take place at 11 p.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

 

Following the graveside all are welcome to celebrate Helen’s life at the home her granddaughter Carol.
