SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Nancy A. Newton, 83, formerly of Terry Drive in South Glens Falls, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Wesley Health Care Facility in Saratoga Springs.
Born on June 14, 1935 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Elleston and Ina (Leroux) Gray.
In 1953, Nancy graduated from Hudson Falls High School and soon after began her working career. At one time, Nancy was employed at Western Union and at Kay-Bee Toy and Hobby Shop for several years. Later in life she was employed as an Administrative Assistant for Adirondack Community College.
On May 19, 1956 she married John E. Newton. They have been married 62 wonderful years, before her passing.
Those left to mourn her loss, include her husband, John Newton of South Glens Falls; her two loving sons, Thomas Newton of Woodstock, Georgia and Steven Newton of South Glens Falls; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and her sister, Karen Partington and her husband, Robert of Connecticut.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Health Care Facility for the wonderful care provided to Nancy through the years.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
The family suggests that memorial donations in Nancy’s name be made to the Wesley Health Care Facility, 131 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
