HUDSON FALLS – Helene (Bly) Nailor, 90, formerly of Maple Street, went into the arms of her Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, with her loving son by her side.
Born on January 4, 1924, in North Argyle, she was the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Brennan) Bly. Helene graduated from Hudson Falls High School and following her graduation, she married Charles “Bud” Nailor. He passed away on February 22, 1983.
Helene enjoyed knitting sweaters for family and friends. While at Holbrook Adult Home in Granville, she knitted several mittens for area churches. She also enjoyed word searches. Helene was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and also amember of TOPS, Argyle Seniors and Home Bureau.
Besides her parents and husband, Helene was predeceased by her brothers, Donald Bly, Walt Bly, Frank Bly, and John Bly.
Survivors include her son, Robert A. Nailor and his wife, Jacqueline of Salem; her grandchildren, Mike Nailor and his wife, Melissa, Marc Nailor and his wife, Kristine, Robyn Eaton and her husband, Thomas, Ron Morin and his wife, Dawn, Bryant Defonseca and his wife, Julie; twelve grandchildren, Meredith Nailor, Maggie Nailor, Jillian Nailor, Brooke Nailor, Drew Nailor, Sysille Eaton, John Eaton, Lydia Eaton, Kaleb Morin, Mary Morin, Shane Defonseca and Alissa Defonseca; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Helene’s family wishes to thank the staff at Holbrook Adult Home for the wonderful care, compassion, and love given to Helene during her stay.
Friends and family may call Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 2p.m., at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will follow calling hour at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will be later in the spring at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
