FORT EDWARD – Michael S. Aubrey “Strink”,67, of Fort Edward passed away suddenly, Friday, February 7, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Sewell and Beatrice Aubrey. He was raised in Fort Edward.
In 1964, Michael graduated from Fort Edward High School. He then served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969 and was a Vietnam War veteran.
He worked at Finch Pruyn for many years. Upon retirement, he immediately joined the volunteer group, RSVP, and worked through Glens Falls Hospital with the life-line program. Michael also volunteered as a patient advocate with Pleasant Valley Infirmary and the Rape Crisis Center, answering phone after hours.
Besides his parents, Michael is predeceased by his sister, Judith Dunnem, his nephew Gerald Brooks Jr., and a niece, Rebecca Rivers.
Survivors include his sister, Mary A. Woodard of Fort Edward; his nieces, Susan Lewis of Fort Edward, Kyle Southworth of Braintree, VT, Kim Vellucci of Fuaquay-Varina, NC; his nephews, Michael Morrill of Bloomingburg, Scott Brooks of South Glens Falls, David Dunnem of Stratford, Ontario, James Dunnem of Davenport, FL; and his very special family, Sherri and Amber Pattee, Robert and Colin Barrisford, and Zepplin Murphy, all of Fort Edward.
There will be no calling hours.
A private burial will be held at Browns Cemetery in West Fort Ann, at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory of Michael can be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, New York 12205.
