SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Theodore F. Meade, 86, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015.
Born on July 27, 1928, in Hudson Falls, he was the son of the late Claude F. and Helen (Stalker) Meade.
Ted attended Hudson Falls School. He then served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
On July 25, 1948, he married Betty J. Dickinson at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church. She passed away on March 2, 2002, after 53 years of marriage.
He worked for NIBCO for 34 years, until his retirement.
Ted enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, bowling and NASCAR. Most of all, Ted loved his family.
Others who predeceased him were his dad, Harold Stanton and his brothers John F. Meade and William Stanton.
Ted is survived by his six children, Donna Palmer and her husband, Ralph of Queensbury, Daniel Meade and his wife, Linda of Palm Bay, Fl, Christine Lyons and her husband, Nelson of Hudson Falls, Peggy Mattison and her husband Gary of Moreau, Michael Meade and his wife, Helen of Corinth and Peter Meade and his wife, Marie of Efland, NC; Thirteen grandchildren, Dawn Lyons Gosline, Daniel Meade, Jr., Theodore S. Meade, Denise Lyons Sundin, Desmond Lyons, Shawn Palmer, Christopher Mattison, Jamie Mattison Stratton, Brian Palmer, John Meade, Tiffany Meade Garnsey, Heather A. Meade and Mark F. Meade; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; his sisters, Alice “Betty” Viger and her husband, Al of Easton, Jeanne VanAcker and her husband, Ed of East Greenbush and Mary Martuscello of Glens Falls; his sisters in law, Rita Porteous of Fort Ann, Sarah “Sally” Gleason of South Glens Falls, Virginia “Ginny” Hill of Fenimore and Linda Stanton of Queensbury; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request , services will be private.
