HUDSON FALLS –
, 79, formerly of Mohican Terrace, passed away, peacefully, in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Fort Hudson Health Care Facility.
Born on September 6, 1934, in Fort Edward, she was the daughter of the late Cornell and Edith (Ignazewski) Hall.
Joyce was a 1952 graduate of Hudson Falls High School and on December 24, 1952, she married George I. Bacon in Hudson Falls.
Joyce enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her beautiful flowers. She loved to go antiquing, looking for interesting objects such as snow babies and half dolls. Joyce was also a wonderful and patient caregiver to her friends and family. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoying them at her feeders around her home. Joyce was a great mother, doting grandmother and a wonderful mentor as a sister. She was very knowledgeable on most subjects but especially of history and genealogy. Joyce had a great thirst for knowledge that she carried throughout her life.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Terry Bacon.
Survivors include her three children, Colleen Conley(Stephen Mylott) of Hudson Falls, Arthur Bacon and his wife, Wendy of Hudson Falls and Lianne Cottrell of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Jamie Kessler and her husband, Chris of Florida, Lindsay Bacon of Hudson Falls and Casey Cottrell of Florida; one great grandson, Maximus Kessler of Florida; her sister, Shirley Flewelling of Queensbury; her brother, Jack Hall and his wife, Kathy of Bolton Landing; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours
Private graveside services will be conducted at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
