HUDSON FALLS – Howard G. Coso, 88, a longtime Hudson Falls resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, surrounded by his loving family, at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility in Fort Edward.
Born November 25, 1925, in Palatine Bridge, he was the son of the late Howard and Hilda (Brand) Coso.
Howard proudly served aboard the U.S.S. Alaska during World War II.
He worked for Arkel and Smith, later known as Chase Bag, in Moreau, for more than 40 years.
He enjoyed coffee time at Stewarts with his daughters, sharing Oreo’s with the staff at Fort Hudson, his cars, and especially loved his 1995 Ford Mustang.
Besides his parents, Howard was predeceased by his one son Philip Wesley Coso.
Survivors include his four daughters, Cheri Newell and her husband, Mike of Argyle, Sandy Roberts and her husband, Bill of Fort Ann, Vicki Reynolds of Hartford, Nancy Rosati and her husband, John of Hudson Falls; his grandchildren, Jason Girard, Danielle Reynolds, Shannon Reynolds, and Sean Daley; and his great grandchildren, Hayleigh Girard and Dylan Girard.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park in Hudson Falls, with The Reverend Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.
Following the Mass there will be a gathering at McManus Hall.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Howard’s family would like to specially thank the staff at Fort Hudson: Patti, Fran, Justin Nan, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Susie, and all who helped care for Howie Boo-Boo.
