GLENS FALLS – Margo P. Hernandez,87, of Glens Falls went into the arms of the Lord on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the Stanton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Queensbury.
She was the daughter of the late Luis and Manuela (Brun) Diaz.
In 1946, she married Charles J. Hernandez, Sr. at St. John’s Church in the Bronx. He passed away May 4, 2013.
Margo and Charles both were of Manhattan and the Bronx, they came to Glens Falls in July 1948, and have resided here since then.
She waitressed for many years in the Glens Falls area before being employed by the Glens Falls Hospital as a Nursing Assistant.
Margo was a communicant of the St. Alphonsus Church in Glens Falls and a member of the Glens Falls Hospital Guild. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed the writings of author John Grisham.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Richard Diaz and Henry Diaz and a sister Mary Lou Diaz.
Survivors include six daughters, Margo Guglielmo and her husband, Roger of Queensbury, Joyce Flower of Queensbury, Charlene Endal and her husband, Gary of South Glens Falls, Mary Kathleen O’Marra and her husband, Jim of Florida, Elizabeth Ann Thompson and her husband, Ken of Florida and Linda Leah Thompson and her husband, JayLee of Queensbury; three sons, Charles John Hernandez Jr. and his wife Beth of Gansevoort, Frank David Hernandez and his wife, Ammeris of Florida, Joseph Hernandez and his wife, Victoria of Virginia; three sisters, Carmen Torres of Kingston, Dora Orris and her husband, Jim of Platkill, Hilda Samblain and her husband, Sam of Florida; three brothers, Louis Diaz of Florida, Anthony Diaz of Florida and David Diaz and his wife, Bridget of Virginia; as well as many grandchildren, and great grandchildren; one great-great grandson Quinton and several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very special nephew, Frank Coleman of Scotia.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
A graveside service will take place on 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, 2015, at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in the town of Queensbury with Pastor Chris Collins of New Hope Community Church officiating.
