FORT EDWARD – Pamela Anne (French) Brooks-Gibbs, left for an unknown adventure on Monday, February 25, 2019.
Born on January 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Charlotte and Lloyd French of Stamford, CT.
Mrs. Gibbs graduated from the Hinkley Preparatory School in Hinckley, ME and Merrill Business School in Stamford, CT. She attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
After college, she worked in Boston before relocating to a commune in West Virginia where she and a group of friends lived on a 450-acre farm and grew amazing things.
Mrs. Gibbs later moved to Washington, DC, where she worked as a legislative assistant to Congressman Bill Chappell, before taking a job caring for thoroughbred show jumpers in Florida and New Jersey.
After moving to Glens Falls, Mrs. Gibbs worked for Web Graphics and as a freelance feature writer for the Post Star for 17 years. She also wrote for other regional magazines and won a number of awards for her writing.
Mrs. Gibbs was predeceased by her husband, Price E. Gibbs, Sr. and a sister, Judith Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Gia Futch and her husband, Damein; grandsons, Logan and Caleb Futch, all of Florida; and by a beloved niece, Barbara Fasulo of Cromwell, CT.
Mrs. Gibbs service will be private.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
