GANSEVOORT/GREENWICH- George J. Blake, 64, currently of Gansevoort, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on February 9, 1954 in Saratoga, he was the son of the late Roy and Sarah (Hagen) Blake.
George was a very hard worker and widely known as a good ole boy. He was always willing to help anyone for a beer. He was a carefree and generous man who liked spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ray Blake.
Survivors include his siblings, Roy Blake of Granville, Frank Blake and Karen McNutt of Bennington, VT, Elaine Grinnell and her husband David, of Argyle, John Blake and his wife Sherri, of Greenwich, Walter Blake and his wife Stephene, of Granville, Roslie Allen and her husband Ken, of North Creek, Betty Allen of Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will begin at 12 noon at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
All are invited to a gathering after, at John Blake’s home at 485 County Route 77 in Greenwich.
The family suggests that donations in George’s name be made to the charity of one’s choice.
