Olga A. Fisk

Fisk, OlgaGANSEVOORT – Olga A. Fisk, 88, of Gansevoort, NY passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2017.

Born in Queens, New York on November 6th, 1928, Olga worked as a secretary, and after her marriage stayed home to raise her five children.  She was a loving wife and mother who taught her children the values of kindness, charity, and politeness.

In addition to her parents and husband, Olga was pre-deceased by her sister Marie.

A long-time resident of Hudson Falls, her 58-year marriage to Frederick H. Fisk resulted in five children; Paul Fisk, Frederick Fisk, John Fisk, Lisa (Fisk) Kelly and Lori (Fisk) Smith.  Besides her children, Olga is survived by her sisters Emma, Ida and Vera.

Besides her children and sisters, Olga is survived by seven grandchildren, Rebecca Fisk, Ginevera Fisk, Dana Fisk, Tyler Fisk, Liam Fisk, Josey Kelly and Madeline Kelly, as well as other family and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., in Hudson Falls on July 1st, 2017.

Public viewing will be from 10:30 am till Noon.

Immediately following there will be a funeral service. There will be a procession to the Bay Street Cemetery after the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Frederick H. Fisk

FiskGANSEVOORT – Frederick H. Fisk of Leonard Street passed away, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at his home with his loving wife and family by his side.

Frederick was born on March 6, 1928, in Durkeetown, NY he was the son of the late Frederick and Helen (Rosa) Fisk.

A wonderful 57 year marriage to Olga S. Sepe resulted in five children; Paul Fisk, Frederick Fisk, John Fisk, Lisa Kelly, and Lori Smith, and grandchildren; Rebecca, Ginevra, Dana, Tyler, Josey, Liam, and Madeline, all survivors. He lived by and taught his children the principles of honesty, working hard, and giving others the benefit of the doubt. He loved his wife with a passion seldom seen and sacrificed much for his children.

In his youth Frederick traveled around the world many times in his fourteen years in the Merchant Marines. He served in the army for two years during the Korean war. Until retirement in 1990 he was a self-employed building contractor with Fisk Enterprises in Hudson Falls, NY and F. Fisk Construction in Wilton, NY.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Dewitt and Winfield and his sister Helen.

Friends are invited to call from 11 to 12 Noon on Thursday August 21st, 2014 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow immediately after at the funeral home.

The Rite of Committal will follow at Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Street in the City of Glens Falls.

David W. Fisk

FiskFORT EDWARD – David W. Fisk, 66, of Fort Edward, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Albany Medical Center, on Sunday, June 9, 2013, following a long illness.

He was born May 15, 1947, to the late DeWitt H. and Mary Joyce (Meneely) Fisk. 

David was a 1965 graduate of Fort Edward High School.  He was employed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 229.  David was well known for his workmanship on local dams, water treatment plants, schools and churches in the area.  Early in his carrier, David worked with his dad and uncle, at Fisk Construction Company, in Hudson Falls.

He was a strong advocate of the right to bear arms.  David was extremely proud of his Life Membership in the National Rifle Association.  He was a past member of the Hartford Fish and Game Club and was a pistol safety training instructor in the 1980’s.

David was also a major contributor to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.  He truly had a heart for the needs of the local community.  Most recently, David resided at Adirondack Manor in Queensbury.

David is survived by his daughter and son in law, Sara and Brian Lange of Utica; his granddaughters, Avery Ruth Lange and Riley Joyce Lange, both of Utica; his former wife, Linda (Evens) Fisk of Utica; his sister and brother in law, Betty and Michael Girard of Fort Edward; his nephews, Dalton Girard and Spencer Girard, both of Fort Edward; his beloved aunt, Betty Hoffis of South Glens Falls; his beloved uncle and aunt, Fred and Olga Fisk of Gansevoort; and several cousins.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Interment services will be private and at the convenience of the family at Glens Falls Cemetery on Bay Road, with Pastor Regina Haag, officiating.

David’s family wishes to thank the surgical staff at Albany Medical Center, especially the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit for their outstanding care and compassion shown to David and his family at this difficult time.
