HUDSON FALLS – Gail Ann Favata, 64, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 24, 2017. At Saratoga Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on March 3, 1953, in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Leona (Bradt) Cannon.
Gail was a graduate of Rush Henrietta Central School District in Henrietta.
She worked for 37 years for the New York State Department of Transportation and was a member of the Civil Service Employee’s Association (CSEA). She loved antiquing, flea markets gardening and home décor. Gail loved going to the ocean, especially Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Her grandchildren were her life. She also loved to shop for her granddaughter Emma. Gail also enjoyed travelling with her life partner, Peter LaPlante.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Gordon Cannon.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Fisher and her husband, Jason of Saratoga Springs and Cammie Smith and her husband, Russell; her three beautiful grandchildren, Jordan Buchas, Jake Potter and Emma Potter; her step grandchildren, Rusty, Hannah and Logan Smith; her life partner, Peter LaPlante of Hudson Falls; the father of her children and close family friends, Joseph and Nancy Favata; and her close friends, Barb and Jim Cary; her sister, Beverly Brugno of Virginia Beach, VA and Gail’s beloved twin sister Judy Randall; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls with Chaplain Rich Hoffman, officiating.
