Elton “Sonny” Bradley

FORT EDWARD- Elton “Sonny” A. Bradley, 81, of Fort Edward, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 20, 2018.

Born on December 8, 1936 in Rutland Vermont, he was the son of the late Stanley R.  and Leah D. (Bridge) Bradley.

Following his graduation from Hudson Falls High School, Sonny joined the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1963.

On June 17, 1993, Sonny married Donna Spellman and they spent 25 wonderful years together.

They enjoyed traveling along the eastern seaboard. Sonny was a lover of birds, and spent many hours watching them, feeding them and reading all about them. He was fond of crime shows such as NCIS and Blue Bloods. Sonny was an avid Washington Redskins fan, and every Sunday found him in front of the television, cheering them on. He was also a diehard Boston Red Sox fan.  Sonny collected shot glasses, even though he wasn’t a drinker.

He was a loyal employee of Sheridan Medical in Argyle, retiring from there in April 1999.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was predeceased by his sisters, Pat Harrington and Sandy Bradley; his brother, Norman Bradley; and his stepson, John Burrows.

Survivors include his loving wife, Donna Bradley of Fort Edward; his two sons, Randy Bradley and Robert Bradley; his two step daughters, Melissa Gaida and Samantha Norton and her husband, John; his four grandchildren, Eric Bosford, Shyane Clark, John Burrows and Tyler Burrows; his two sisters, Tanis Higgins and her husband, Bob and Marlene Renner; his brother Barry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

There will be a graveside service at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward at a later date.
