FORT EDWARD- Edward “Dubby” Phillips,79, of Fort Edward, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on May 23, 1939 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Phelps) Phillips.
Dubby was a very hard worker and did janitorial work for many years.
He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his lifelong partner, Glenda Burdo; his daughter, Denise Oudekerk; his grandson, Dana Phillips; his siblings, Ernest, Charles, Earl, Robert, Jerry, Ernesta, Margaret, Sylvia and Priscilla.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Phillips, Mike Phillips and his companion, Crystal of Fort Edward, Daniel Phillips and his companion, Mary of Fort Edward, Christina Allen and her husband, Matt of Fort Edward; his grandchildren, Cara, Bruce and their children, Travis, Cadence and Gavin, Coty and Megan and their children, Tyler and Lucas, Michael, Katlyn and their children, Dominic, Julian and Bryce, Erika Phillips, Emily Phillips and Daniel Phillips; his brother, Dennis Phillips of Hudson Falls; his sisters, Betty and Patricia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 9, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
The family suggests that donations in Dubby’s name be made to a charity of one’s choice.
