HUDSON FALLS – Kathy A. (Simpson) Colvin, 63, of Hudson Falls, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
Born July 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Clark Simpson, Sr. and Margaret Bessie Simpson (Allen).
Kathy drove school bus for the Hudson Falls School District for 23 years. She was a manager at Cumberland Farms for several years before she retired.
She enjoyed baking, especially cakes and cookies, playing bingo, and going to the casino. She loved spending time with her granddaughter and the rest of her family. Kathy was an easy going person who was quick to lend a hand whenever needed. She loved all children and welcomed them with smiles, hugs, and kisses. She always had time to listen to others without judgment and offered more than wise words. Her presence will be sorely missed.
Besides her parents, Kathy is predeceased by her brother, Jeffrey Clark Simpson, and her sister, Sally Jane Tompkins (Simpson).
Survivors include her daughter; Marissa Jean Wade and her significant other, David LaPlant; her granddaughter, Adriah Lalanea LaPlant; her siblings, Frank Joseph Simpson and his wife, Cynthia of Camden, DE, Timothy John Simpson, Sr. of Philmont, Margaret (Peggy) Jean Wade (Simpson) and her significant other, Pete Northup of Hudson Falls, Vincent (Butch) Clark Simpson, Jr and wife Beth of Philmont, Kelly Lynn Webster (Simpson) and her husband, John of Hudson Falls, and Michelle Diane Simpson and her significant other, Melissa Knight of Saratoga; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends may call Saturday, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Carleton Funeral Home Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.
A graveside service will be held in the spring.
