HUDSON FALLS – Clarence W. Huestis, 77, of Hudson Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2016, at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 14, 1939 in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Chauncey H. and Beatrice (Sartwell) Huestis, Sr.
For many years, Clarence was a farmer for Judge Crandall in Fort Ann and he also worked on the Szostak Farm in Hudson Falls.
Clarence was a member and enjoyed going to the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Hudson Falls and was also a leader in the Royal Rangers. He also loved to go fishing, hunting and watch movies.
Besides his parents, Clarence was also predeceased by his brothers, Fred Huestis, George Sartwell and LeRoy Huestis; and his two sisters, Juanita Hall and Beatrice Huestis.
Survivors include his three brothers Chauncey Huestis and Thomas Huestis, both of Hudson Falls and Almon Huestis and his wife, Caroline of Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls, with Pastor Paul Mead, of the Gospel Lighthouse Church, officiating.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.
The family would like to thank the staff on Tower 5 and Tower 3 at the Glens Falls Hospital, Dr. Suzanne Blood and the staff at Fort Hudson Health Care Facility for the compassionate care given to Clarence.
Following the burial everyone is welcome to a brunch at Gospel Lighthouse Church, at 30 La Crosse Street, in Hudson Falls.
