HUDSON FALLS – Ora D. Bombard, 72, of Ninth Avenue, went into the arms of the Lord, at her home, on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
Born on May 20, 1940, in Fort Ann, she was the daughter of the late Sandy and Edith (Granger) Brownell.
On January 5, 1957, she married Robert F. Bombard in Fort Ann. He passed away on July 22, 1987, after 30 years of marriage.
She was an active, lifelong member of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church.
After raising her seven children, Ora, was very proud to have continued her education. She enjoyed tending to her roses and tulips in the flower gardens around her home. Ora had a big heart, who always had room for anyone. She was always loving and caring to her family, friends and to all those around her. Ora was a wonderful cook, who enjoyed holiday meals with her family. Family was the center of her life. She was a wonderful mother, a loving and supportive grandmother and caring sister.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Edward Brownell, Harlis Brownell, Robert Brownell, William Brownell and Theodore Brownell.
She is survived by her seven children, Debra Bullard and her husband, Steven of Lake George, Roberta Bombard of Hudson Falls, Daniel Bombard and his wife, Donna of Hudson Falls, Robert F. Bombard, Jr. of Hudson Falls, Diane Howard and her husband, Blanton of North Carolina, Rebecca Cleveland and her husband, John of Warrensburg and William Bombard of Hudson Falls; her five grandchildren, Daniel Bombard, Jr., David Bombard, Vanessa Kelly, Regina Kelly and Ryan Bombard; her two sisters, Rosella Beebe of Hudson Falls and Julia Bombard of Hudson Falls; her brother Albert Brownell and his wife, Sheila of Hudson Falls; her sisters in law, Joan Brownell of South Glens Falls, Nancy Brownell of Hudson Falls and Gail Brownell; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be on Friday, May 3, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, 227 Main St, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Tripoli Road in West Fort Ann.
