Blanche C. Dufour

Dufour, BlancheQUEENSBURY- Blanche C. Dufour, 92, of Queensbury Avenue, was an angel that went into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at her home.

Blanche Dufour was born on March 27, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Yerda (Salmonson) Flood.

She was married to Allen A. Dufour on June 13, 1948 at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls.

Blanche was the most amazing woman ever. Her special qualities to be able to share her love and kindness to all and with everyone, her ability to listen with patience and understanding to make you warm and happy inside. Blanche will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we will all be okay knowing that now she is sharing her love and kindness up in heaven.

Blanche was actively involved with the Women’s Auxiliary for the South Queensbury Fire Department. She worked for C.R. Bard for many years and while employed there she baked many cakes for the employee’s birthdays and was eventually nicknamed the Cake Lady.

After retiring from C.R. Bard, Blanche joined a group of ladies that called themselves the Pie Ladies. They would meet once a month and enjoy each other’s company, play bingo, go out to eat and share their stories and laugh together, having a good time.

Blanche enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, shopping and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as her nieces, nephews, family and friends. She also took pleasure in meeting her retired friends and going out to birthday luncheons.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allen; and her stillborn daughter; her sister, Mary Jacobie; her two brothers, Eugene and John Flood; and some very special nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Rouleau and her husband, Rickey of Barre, Vermont and Ann Marie Campp and her husband, Jeff of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Derrick Rouleau (Angela MacAuley), Joshua Rouleau (Tonya Kidder) Ashley Ayer (Dustin Ayer) all of Vermont, and Stephen Campp of Queensbury; two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Mason Rouleau of Vermont; a dear and special sister-in-law, Jessie Dufour of Queensbury; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Blanche will be truly missed by all.  The family would like to thank Warren County Nurses and Bay Ridge Emergency Squad for their services provided to our mother, Blanche Dufour.

The family suggests that donations in Blanche’s name be made to either the South Queensbury Volunteer Fire Department, on Lower Dix Avenue, Queensbury, NY 12804 or to the Bay Ridge Emergency Squad, 1109 Ridge Road, Queensbury, NY 12804.
