HUDSON FALLS – Alida Joan Canary, 54, of Poplar Street, passed away peacefully in her sleep, at her home, after a battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 10, 2016.
Born on November 29, 1961 in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Mauterstock) Burns.
Alida was a member of the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church. Her commitment to the church was well known by her pastor, friends and acquaintances in the congregation.
She was an avid baseball fan. She especially loved watching the Yankees, “Go Yankees!”. Alida also enjoyed camping with her husband, John. Family was the center piece of her life.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Canary; her children, Jeremiah Bach, Erica Burlew and Ryan Burlew; her step children, Bret Canary and Michael Canary; and her beloved grandchildren, Rebecca, Shea, Suzie, Dylan, Scout, Tanner, Joshua and Hunter; her aunt, who was like a second mother, Joan Mauterstock; her brother, Dave “Butch” Burns as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.
The Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 5 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Reverend Derek Hansen, pastor of Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, officiating.
