Thanks to the family and memory of a truly great man, our “Coach” Addison.
From 1963-65 I was a student at the then Adirondack Community College,
in Hudson Falls and Glens Falls. To any and all he met he helped us make the
rough transition from High School to College. Both on and off the athletic
fields and courts he was our Mentor and Friend. He will never be forgotten !
Semper FI Marine. !!!
Coach Addison was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. When I first came to ACC in 1970, I “adopted Coach” as my “substitute Father”, as it was my first time away from home. With his ever present smile, he was always willing to take the time to listen and was very easy to talk to. Over all these years, I have held fond memories of a very gentle man who encouraged you to be the best you could be.
To Becky and family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
How lucky I am to have known someone that makes saying good bye so hard .
Good bye Uncle Bob
Coach Addison embodied everything a true and effective teacher should be. He was kind, patient and truly a caring man. I was at ACC from 1981 to 1983. I was never a “star athlete” but that didn’t matter to Coach Addison. If you tried, you gave it your hardest – that’s what he was looking for. I’ll always appreciate that.
To the family of Bob Addison, We in the Marine Corps community have lost another brother and in Bob’s case he was a Marines Marine. I ran Potters Express on Dix Ave and remember Bob being active in Det # 2 and helping when we transported the Marine Corps Band equipment back and forth to the airport. He was always nice to me at the Birthday Balls, Toys for Tots and other functions the League was involved in. Not all can claim they were an Edson’s Raider and I am very sorry to hear of your loss. To Bob: Job well done Marine.
