HUDSON FALLS – Richard P. Hluboky, 94, of Hudson Falls went into the arms of the Lord peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at the Landing in Queensbury.
Born on December 28,1921, in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Jane (Murphy) Hluboky.
Richard grew up and attended school in New York City. After school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in Germany. Because of his meritorious Achievement in ground operations against the enemy, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service to his country.
Shortly after his discharge from the Army, he married his first wife, Mefalda Ruggeri, she passed away in 1971. On June 20, 1975, Richard married Helen Devine, in the town of Kingsbury.
Richard was employed by the United States Postal Service as a clerk for 29 years, retiring in 1972. While working for the post office, he also moonlighted as a limo driver for the Davidows in New York City.
Richard enjoyed being active with the Hudson Falls/Kingsbury Senior Center. After his retirement, he served as custodian for the Hudson Falls First Baptist Church for over 10 years.
In addition to his parents and wives, he is predeceased by a son, Robert Hluboky, who passed away in 1985, and his siblings. Eleanor Devine, John Hluboky and Jeanne Princiotta.
Survivors include his children, Cheryl Maskell and her husband James, of Hudson Falls, Mary Lemery and her husband, John, of Gansevoort, John Devine and his wife, Maureen of Hudson Falls, Renald Devine and his wife Claudia, of Kingsbury, Dianne Hluboky of Florida and Margaret Bessenbach and her husband, Michael of Germany; nine grandchildren, Heather, Heidi, Brett, Lindsey, Katherine, Nicholas, Christopher, Constanza and James; 7 great grandchildren. Andrew, MJ, Alex, Maggie, Mackenzi, Mason and Chloe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
The Rite of Committal will follow at 12 noon on Friday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

We are so sorry to hear of Dickie’s passing. He was a lovely man who we always enjoyed chatting with at family functions.
Our hearts are with you all. May your abundance of happy memories help to ease the pain of his loss.
