Paul G. Hunsperger

HARTFORD – Paul G. Hunsperger, 92, of State Route 149, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at the Glens Falls Hospital

Born on April 16, 1926 in Attica, he was the son of the late J. Arnold and Ida (Whittwer) Hunsperger.

Paul graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1943.

Until age 47, he worked on the family farm in Fort Edward. He built houses from 1973 until 1988 and worked at Gibson Hardware in Hartford for a time.

His wife, Irene Smith Hunsperger, died on May 18, 1999.

Paul was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls where he served as a deacon and a trustee.

His enjoyments included reading and traveling.

In addition to his wife and parents, three brothers, John, Walter and Otto Hunsperger, as well as his six sisters, Helen Maloy, Dora Case and Ruth Wever, Gerty Duell, Emmy Smith and Pearl Stark, alsodied before him.

Survivors include four children, John Hunsperger of Gilroy, CA, Linda Whitney and her husband, Bruce, of Fort Ann, Sandra Brown and her husband, Kenneth, of Chandler, AZ and Deborah Lackey and her husband, David, of North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Neil and Heather Hunsperger, Kendrick and Justin Whitney, Shauna Forshee and Christopher Brown, Denise and Benjamin Lackey; his great grandchildren, Branden, Kile, Isabella, Olive, Stella, Nicholas, Jake, Jena and Kolby; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert McCrory, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hudson Falls, officiating.

Burial will follow at Morningside Cemetery in Hartford.

The family suggests memorials in the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church, 118 Main St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839 or the Hartford Volunteer Fire Company, 8118 State Route 40, Hartford, New York 12838-0121.

Paul’s family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Glens Falls Hospital, as well as John Madolare, Sandy McFarren, Jim and Lettie Hays, Marilyn Wicks and Gary, Pat and Mike Smith, for all their care and compassion

    Please accept our condolences. Paul was a true friend and wonderful neighbor to us. Don is so thankful that he got to visit with Paul this summer. We have many good memories.
