SunderlandFORT EDWARD – Stanley E. Sunderland, 65, of Fort Edward, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on January 24, 1949, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Dorothy (Dominy) Sunderland and the late Dwight Sunderland.

Stanley was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany.

On May 15, 1971, he married Margaret Wall, at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson Falls.

After 43 years of service, he retired from SCA Paper in Fort Edward.

Stanley loved camping, fishing and being with family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Sunderland of Fort Edward; his daughters, Michelle Realejo and her partner Paulo Matias of New Bedford, MA and Heather La Marque of Hudson Falls; his grandchildren, Eric Sunderland, Gavin Realejo and Owen La Marque; his sisters, Karen Sunderland of Nevada, Linda Sunderland of Saratoga Springs and Kim Anderson of Saratoga Springs; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his son in law, Tom La Marque of Fort Edward.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

Stanley’s family suggests memorial donations be made to a veteran’s charity of your choice.

Ronald R. Pike

PikeHUDSON FALLS – Ronald R. Pike, of Hudson Falls, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, at home.

Born August 19, 1949,  in Corinth, he was the son of Robertine (Tennant) Uline and the late Clarence Pike.

Ronald graduated from Corinth High School.

He served with the United States Army in the 1970’s.

On Dec 10, 2011 Ronald married Martha A. Cutter in Hudson Falls.

Ronald was retired from the Glens Falls Hospital after many years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, wood working and watching football. Because he enjoyed he collected Dale Earnhardt Jr. memorabilia.  He loved the company of his four legged friends, Buddy and Bella

Survivors include his wife, Martha A. Pike of Hudson Falls; his mother, Robertine (Tennant) Uline of Saratoga; his step son, John Cutter of Glens Falls; his sisters, Linda Kirby and her husband, Bill of Hadley, Lorraine Salls and her husband, Leonard of Greenwich, Lucy Haring and her husband, Rob of Ormond Beach, Florida; his brother, Dickie Pike of West Virginia; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; as well as many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.

Eugene Francis “Frank” LaMoy Jr.

LaMoy Old HUDSON FALLS – Eugene Francis “Frank” LaMoy Jr. was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Dec. 6th 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on October 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Helen Irene (Flint) LaMoy and Eugene Francis LaMoy Sr.

Frank grew up in Glens Falls, graduating high school in 1960. He married Patricia Ann (Waite) LaMoy on April 8, 1960. Together they raised four children who he adored.

LaMoy YoungIn his younger years, Frank piloted aircrafts at Gorham Municipal Airport in New Hampshire.    He was a skilled craftsman, building several houses in the Kingsbury area with his close friend, Joseph Trackey.  Frank and his step-father, Charles Clark constructed large industrial boilers all around the New England area, including the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Plant in Vernon, VT.   Frank worked at and retired from Encore after 25 years as an accomplished pipe fitter.

Camping, fishing, boating and hunting are some of Frank’s many hobbies.    He was a proud member of The Owls Hunting Club in North Hudson.   The friendships Frank made, he held dear to his heart.      His love of fishing was passed on to his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia; their children, daughter, Elizabeth (Donald) Hewitt, son, Frank LaMoy, daughter, Stacia (Robert) Bonanno and son, Jason (Connie) LaMoy; sister, Jane (Richard) Choquette; grandchildren, Grant (Leslie) LaMoy, Dan (Holly) Hewitt, Matthew Hewitt, David Hewitt, Ryan Hewitt, Felicia Bonanno, Anthony Bonanno, Corey LaMoy, Parker Gugliotta, Nathan Bonanno, Adam Bonanno, Gianna LaMoy, Ivie LaMoy, and Jett LaMoy; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, a nephew and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, following the calling hours, at The Church of the Messiah, 296 Glen St. Glens Falls, with Father Karl Griswold-Kuhn, Rector officiating.

Burial will be in the spring at Moss Street Cemetery, Route 4 in the town of Kingsbury.

The family requests donations be made to a charity of his or her own choice.

Stella O. Dumont Couglar

Couglar Old Couglar YoungHUDSON FALLS – Stella O. Dumont Couglar – On Tuesday, December 9, 2014, a great sorrow was brought upon our family with the loss of our mother. Stella, known to us as Gram consistently supported her family with getting through the challenges life brings.  She was an individual who dreamed big and jumped into new experiences head first and then worked extremely hard to succeed once she realized what she had undertaken.  Her dining room table was always surrounded by family and friends, and while she wasn’t a “hugger”, you always knew she loved you and accepted you.

Gram attended school during the 30’s and 40’s in Glens Falls and spoke fondly of her simple childhood on the eastside, including all the hijinks she and her 6 siblings were known for.  She married our father George Henry Dumont at the original St. Alphonsus church on August 9, 1942.  During WWII, she worked in a Bridgeport CT airplane assembly factory as an infamous “Rosie the Riveter”.  She always reminisced of the golden age of Glens Falls, after WWII, with its theatres, bustling stores and hometown spirit.  On December 28, 1960, she was no stranger to loss herself as she lost our father and six months later, she lost her 8 year old son, our brother, Gary Fredrick Dumont.  Those tragedies are what helped make her so strong and accepting.  In 1963 she and some of her children were photographed for an article about the Hudson River at Cooper’s Cave in “National Geographic”.   In the 1970’s and 1980’s she owned and operated The Voyager restaurant and Stony Hill Cottages in Lake George and Estelle D’s restaurant in downtown Glens Falls.  She absolutely loved being in business for herself, though she often worked 18 hour days.  She retired in 1988 and until this past summer, she maintained her own yard and flower gardens.

In her 70’s she jumped rope with her grandchildren despite her “damn ankle”, in her 80’s she went tubing on Glen Lake and when she was 90 she rode a mechanical bull at a family graduation party (with some of us holding our breath in fear she would get tossed).  She was never wanting to be the center of attention but always took the challenge we put in front of her.  She continued to be very strong throughout her life, something she attributed to her Danish heritage.  She always considered herself lucky and over her lifetime she had collected hundreds of real four-leaf clovers.

Stella Oline was born on McDonald St., on January 14, 1923, to Haakon Jharl and Astrid Amelia (Sommer) Antonsen, their fourth child.  Her siblings:  Edith Carlisle, and Haakon, Olaf & Elmer Antonsen all predeceased her.  Her sisters Thelma Edgerly and Ruth Dumas survive her and she is also survived by her brother Elmer’s widow, Hannelore Antonsen, and their families.

Stella leaves behind her four loving children, Linda Jackoski and her husband Roger, Patricia Carl and her husband Edward, George (Georgie), and Dianna Underwood and her children’s father, Ronald.  She had 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild with another on the way, all too numerous to individually mention, but were no less loved greatly by “Gram”.

Mom was the heart and soul of this family and a true inspiration to us all.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

A celebration of her life will be this Saturday at 5 p.m., at no other place than her home, where we find the most comfort in dealing with our loss.

In lieu of flowers or donations, simply plan a dinner of your favorite comfort foods and cherish the time you have with special people in your own life.  If Mom taught us anything, it is that simply having dinner together at a big table, makes life just that much better, at least for that hour or two.  With all the time we had with her, we all wish there was one more “Let me know when you can come down for dinner.”

Charles Blaine Carpenter

Carpenter, CharlesFORT EDWARD – Charles Blaine Carpenter, 76, of Fort Edward, passed away surrounded by his loving children at his home, on Monday, December 8, 2014, after a long illness.

Born on January 4, 1938 in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Catherine E. (Lambert) Carpenter.

Blaine attended Fort Edward Schools and on February 24, 1960, he married Barbara Orton.     They spent 47 wonderful years together raising their family before she passed away on August 15, 2007. 

For 40 years, he was employed as a machine operator at Decora Manufacturing in Fort Edward.  Blaine took wonderful care of his family, many times working several jobs to give them what they needed.  His family was the center of his life.  Blaine went above and beyond to be a caring and loving husband and father.  

He was also an excellent mechanic.  Blaine was good with his hands and could fix any engine that was brought before him.   He loved motor sports, snowmobiling, motor cycles and driving race cars his whole life.    His passion for anything with a motor was passed on to his family.

Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his siblings, Monica Bellephine, John Carpenter, Paul Carpentier and an infant brother, Thomas Carpenter.

Survivors include his children, Edward Carpenter and his wife, Anne of Fort Edward, Michael Carpenter of Fort Edward, Rosemary Koehler and her husband, Craig of Gansevoort and Kimberly Veen and her husband, Eric of Queensbury; his grandchildren, Blaine Carpenter and his fiancee, Lisa Overstrom, Jennie Carpenter, Heidi Lynn Carpenter, Michael Raymond Carpenter, Monica and Keith Hogan and Emma Koehler; his sister, Joan Havens of Boston, MA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Babiuch, officiating.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

The family wishes to thank Dr.Stoutenburg, Elaine Williams and the nurses from Fort Hudson, Krista, Matt and Joe, for all the wonderful care and compassion given to Blaine and his family.

Beatrice L. Plude

PludeHUDSON FALLS—Beatrice Louise “Bea” Plude, a longtime resident of LaBarge Street, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at the Fort Hudson Healthcare Facility. She was 86.  

She was born in Hudson Falls on March 31, 1928, the daughter of Wilfred and Mildred Deyette Bechard.  

On Sept. 4, 1954, Mrs. Plude married Donald J. Plude and moved into the house he built himself at 33 LaBarge Street. They lived there together for 29 years, until Mr. Plude’s death in 1983. She lived there for another 26 years before entering the nursing home—55 years in all.  

From the mid 1970s to the early ’80s, Mr. and Mrs. Plude enjoyed taking trips in their Winnebago with their family. They could often be found at campgrounds in the Adirondacks and at local parades, with friends in tow or around the campfire.  

In later years, Mrs. Plude could often be seen sitting on the front stoop of her house or in the driveway in nice weather with her son Michael, who has Down syndrome, and waving to and chatting with neighbors and passersby. For many years, Mrs. Plude took care of Michael at the family home. She had a warm and bright smile and a good sense of humor and loved a good hotdog.  

Mrs. Plude especially enjoyed scholastic wrestling. For many years after her son Jeffrey was a high school wrestler, she could be seen at area matches and tournaments in the front row cheering on the Hudson Falls Tiger grapplers. She regularly attended the Hudson Falls High School wrestling banquets and presented the annual sportsmanship award to the winner. She herself was awarded a plaque as the #1 Fan by the 1995-96 team.  

Her other sport was professional baseball. An avid Yankees fan, Mrs. Plude rarely missed a game on television in the 1980s and ’90s and attended games at the old Yankee Stadium several times. She also liked to do crossword puzzles and take bus trips with other seniors. She was a past member of the Hudson Falls/Fort Edward 60 Plus Senior Citizens and a member of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.  

Her parents, her husband, a half brother Richard Gregory, and two sisters, Doris Costanzo and Shirley Ball, all died before her.  

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Plude and his wife, Karen, of Glens Falls, and Michael Plude of Granville; her stepson, Ronald Plude of Plano, Texas; her stepgrandsons, Scott and Matthew Plude, both of California; her half sister, Joyce Hammond of Queensbury; her half brothers, Marvin Gregory of Glens Falls and Raymond Gregory and his wife, Linda, of Hudson Falls; her sisters-in-law, Lois Plude of Lusby, Maryland, Marlyn Bray and her husband, Dana, of Queensbury, and Roanne Messier of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls.  

Services will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, following the calling hours. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Edward.

Lorraine V. Willette

LAKE GEORGE – Lorraine V. Willette, 85, of Ledgeview Dr. passed away at the Glens Falls Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

Born on Dec. 5, 1928, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (Colburn) Willette.

Lorraine was a 1946 graduate of Hudson Falls High School.

She began her career in the personnel department at Union Bag and Paper Co. which became Arkell and Smiths, formerly in Moreau.  After working a total of 19 years for those companies, Lorraine worked 27 years as a secretary for Kamyr, Inc. of Glens Falls, which became Ahlstrom.

For many years, she was a Hudson Falls resident and a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, until moving to Lake George.  After moving, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Glens Falls.

Her enjoyments included reading, sewing and embroidery.  Lorraine also loved going to restaurants, being around family and friends.  She was full of joy and laughter and loved going for walks, and a day full of sunshine.

In addition to her parents, her sisters, Betty LaPierre and Joan T. Willette and her brother, Gerald L. Willette, Sr., also died before her.

Survivors include six nephews, Gerald L. Willette, Jr. of Fort Ann, Peter M. Willette of South Glens Falls, Paul Willette of Albany, Thomas Willette and his wife, Diane, of Albany, John Willette and his family of Texas and Bruce LaPierre and his wife, Nancy and their family, of Queensbury; two nieces, Mary Dodgen and her husband, John, of Sand Springs, OK and Bernadette Harrow, and her husband, Jack, of NC; and many cousins, great nieces, and great nephews.

Friends are welcome to call from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. at 68 Main St. in Hudson Falls.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church, 62 Warren Street in Glens Falls.

The Rite of Committal will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

Philip J. Smith, Sr

Smith, philipHUDSON FALLS – Philip J. Smith, Sr., 79, of Circular Drive, went into the arms of the Lord on Monday, December 1, 2014, at his home.

Born November 10, 1935 in Kingsbury, he was the son of the later Jim and Ellen (Lewis) Smith.

Philip graduated from Hudson Falls High School in 1953.

On September 8, 1956, he married Phyllis Maranville at the Gospel Lighthouse Church by the Reverend Canterbury. They met in 1953, through activities at the church.

Philip was employed by General Electric for 38 years at the Hudson Falls and Fort Edward plants. He also drove school bus for Hudson Falls School for 15 years, where he was known for being strict but fair to his passengers.

He was a car enthusiast, who loved to drive anything. Philip had a 1983 Olds and a 1973 Grand Prix.   He enjoyed watching his New York Yankee’s baseball and had an impressive hat collection, that was only rivaled by his son’s collection. He loved his family most of all and was protective of them.   Philip was a lifelong member of the Gospel Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Hudson Falls. He was devoted to his faith and his church. Philip had a passion for his faith in the Lord.

Besides his parents, Philip was predeceased by his daughter, Joan Marie Duckett, and his sister, Mary Louise Fish.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Smith of Hudson Falls; his son, Philip Smith, Jr. and his wife, Tana of Stillwater; his six grandchildren, Andrew Smith, Brett Smith, Sarah Vannier, Ashley Wade, Jessica Duckett, and Joshua Duckett; his great grandchild, Avante Duckett; his nephew, Neal Fish; and his cousins “The Smith Brothers”.

There will be no calling hours.

At the family’s request, a private gathering will be held for the immediate family.

Raymond A. Sherlock

SherlockHUDSON FALLS – Raymond A. Sherlock , 88, of Englewood, FL and Hudson Falls, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his daughters home, following a long illness.

Born August 31, 1926 in Hartford, he was the son of the late George F. and Lena Muzzy Shirlock.

Ray was one of 13 children. He grew up farming and when he was 17 he left the farm to serve his country. He joined the United States Navy at the Naval Training Station in Sampson on November 2, 1943. He was assigned to the USS ATTU. Most of his service time was spent in the South Pacific where he earned the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in Boston, MA on May 18, 1946

After his time in the Navy, Ray did not want to return to the farm in VT, so he went to live with his oldest sister in Fort Edward. He worked at various jobs and especially enjoyed carpentry. He built several houses in the area. One winter when carpenter work was slow, he took a “temporary” position hauling milk for the Hillman Bros. and Fort Edward Express. This position became a full-time profession and Ray spent the next 35 years driving tractor-trailer around the United States. He continued carpentry work during the evenings and weekends, and upon retirement from truck driving in September of 1987, he once again returned to building homes. Ray started his own company, Sherlock Builders, where he and his son, Rick, built and remodeled a great many homes until he again retired in 2009. After his retirement, he spent the winters in Florida and in November of 2012 he moved to Englewood, FL.

On October 18, 1957, Ray married Marian Moley of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. They moved to upstate New York where they settled in Hudson Falls to raise their family. They did a lot of traveling over the years and brought their children along on many of their trips.

In later years, Ray and Marian decided to put their camper on Trout Lake, where they spent many memorable summers.

Marian passed away on December 4, 2003

Ray was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in South Glens Falls, the VFW Post 6196 in Queensbury and the Newcomb Sportsman’s Club.

In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was predeceased by most of his siblings.

Survivors include his son, Richard Sherlock of Burnt Hills and his wife, Ellen and their children, Mia and Ian, his daughter, Patricia Monroe of Hudson Falls and her husband, Ken, and their children Abigail Wells, Brian Wells and Kendrick Monroe, his daughter, Donna Winchell of Hudson Falls and her husband, Scott, and their children Emily, Ken, Scott and Brandon; two great granddaughters, Brielle Winchell and Mackenna Monroe; his children from a previous marriage, Steven (Skip) Sherlock, Susan Eggleston, Warren Sherlock, Jerry Sherlock, Jeffrey Sherlock and Mark Sherlock; his brother in law, Frank Moley and his wife, Joan, and their children Susan, Francis and John; his hunting buddies, Dan, Del and Karl; his fiancé, Pat Zucker of Englewood, FL; and his fishing friends, Dave and Larry.   Friends may call Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, at 8:45 a.m., at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the services at 10:30 a.m., at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Veterans Cemetery, in the town of Stillwater.

Mary Ferraro Coso

cosomHUDSON FALLS – Mary Ferraro Coso, 83, who resided with her daughter, and son in law, Nancy and John Rosati and her grandson, Sean Daley, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 1, 2014.

Born on September 7, 1931, in Canajoharie, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Myrtle (Pitcher) Ferraro.

Mary worked at Scott Paper in Fort Edward for over 25 years where she served as secretary of her union.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward.  Mary enjoyed crafting, knitting, sewing, drinking a good cup of tea, going to the Racino, and spending time with her, Sean,  Most of all she loved her being surrounded by her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Philip Wesley Coso and her sister Phyllis Memrick.

She is survived by her  four daughters who considered her the wind beneath their wings, Cheri Newell and her husband, Mike of Argyle, Sandy Roberts and her husband, Bill of Fort Ann, Vicki Reynolds of Hudson Falls, Nancy Rosati and her husband, John of Hudson Falls; her grandchildren, Jason Girard, Danielle Reynolds, Shannon Reynolds, Sean Daley, John Carl Rosati and Anthony Rosati; her great grandchildren, Hayleigh Girard and Dylan Girard; a sister, Frances Hill of Enterprise, AL; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her special friends, Bev, Alice and Hazel as well as her many friends at the Scott Luncheons.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Church on Broadway in Fort Edward with Rev. Thomas Babiuch, pastor, officiating.

John Stephen Wells, Sr.

Wells. JohnSOUTH GLENS FALLS – John Stephen Wells, Sr., 67, of South Glens Falls, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at St. Peter’s Hospice on Albany.

Born on July 13, 1947, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Lillian (Pease) Wells, Sr.

John’s wife, Carolyn Wells, passed away on December 11, 1995.

For many years John was a dairy farmer, working the farm with his wife until 1994.  He then worked for Duke Concrete for several years.

He was an avid New York Yankees fan and was a huge WWE wrestling enthusiast.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Florida and was active in the Dick Ladd Square Dance Association.

In addition to his wife and parents, John is predeceased by a brother, Joseph Wells and a sister, Linda Blake.

Survivors include a son, John S. Wells, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Hudson Falls and a daughter, Valerie L. Wells of Hudson Falls; his step-children Gena Wells and Becky; his grandchildren, Brittany Porlier, Glenn Hurd, Jr., Koreena Hurd, Shyanne Hurd, Lucas Hurd, Stephen Wells and Tiana Wells; his step grandchildren Harley Wells  and Aaron Wells;his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Wells, Jr., Wayne Wells, James Wells, Patricia Wells-Cook , Ellen DeRusha, Joan Heustis and Marlene Wells; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

Following the calling hours, all are welcome to a gathering at Val’s home.

A graveside service will take place in the spring at Morningside Cemetery in the town of Hartford.

Emma E. (MacDonald) Parsons

ParsonsHUDSON FALLS and PAWLETT, VT – Emma E. (MacDonald) Parsons, 94, most recently of Johnsburg, went to be with her Lord, on Monday, November 24, 2014.

Born on February 12, 1920, in Chestertown, she was the oldest child of the late Howard and Katherine (Hill) Underwood.

Emma was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School.

On March 22, 1940, she married Leslie MacDonald.  He passed away on August 6, 1983, after 43 years of marriage.  On January 9, 1988, she married Edward Parsons, Jr.; he passed away in October of 1999.

Emma was a Washington County Home Health Aide for 15 years and was a member of the American Bell Association.  Her Christian faith was an important part of her life.    She attended the Gospel Lighthouse Church and was a founding member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, where she taught Sunday school for 35 years.  Emma was also a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Association and attended the Granville Assembly of God Church.   Since 2009, Emma has been attending Sodom Community Church in North Creek, to be with her family.    She was a wonderful lady who not only put her church as the center of her life, she lived her faith.  Emma could make friends everywhere, inside and outside the walls of a church.    The other core of her life was her family.   Emma felt so blessed to have the affection of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.  Her family loved her greatly and will miss her deeply, but they know she is with her Lord.

Emma was a part of the Wells, Vermont Senior Citizens and was an active member of the Gore Mountain Senior Citizens, where she was known as the “Sunshine Lady”.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her two sons, Raymond MacDonald and Douglas MacDonald and her infant daughter, Gloria MacDonald, her sister Katherine Tyminski, her brothers, Clarence, Charles, Phillip and Ralph Underwood.

She is survived by her children, Noreen Bennett (Edward) of Hadley, Allen MacDonald (Beverly)of Delaware, Kathleen Allen ( Ronald) of Johnsburg, Darrel MacDonald (Debbie) of Fort Edward, Lorna Outten (Byron) of Delaware and Candice Blake (Pat) of PA; her 26 grandchildren; her 51 plus great grandchildren; her 4 plus great, great grandchildren; her daughter in law, Beverly MacDonald of North Creek; her brothers, George Underwood and Ernest Underwood both of Hudson Falls, Harry Underwood of South Glens Falls and Leo Underwood of Coeymans Hallow; many nieces and nephews; and special sisters in law.

Friends may call on Friday from 10 to 12 Noon at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon on Friday at the funeral home, with her son in law, the Reverend Ronald N. Allen, pastor of the Sodom Community Church in North Creek, officiating.

Burial will be at a later date at Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.

Maureen J. Lukaszewicz

LukaszewiczHUDSON FALLS – Maureen Jude Lukaszewicz of River St. in Hudson Falls passed away Friday, November 21, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Born on June 5, 1967, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Sandra Lukaszewicz.

She loved animals; she also loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed traveling, bicycling, and going to the racetrack.

Maureen worked at The Pines in Glens Falls for the last 16 years as a Dietary Aide. She was a dedicated and hard worker.

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls.

Maureen helped care for both her parents in their last years.

She is survived by her siblings Bernie Lukaszewicz (Mary) of Lake Placid NY, Tim Lukaszewicz (Anita) of Merritt Island FL, Michael Lukaszewicz (Kim) of Kingsbury NY, Kelly Smith (Steve) of Odessa Fl, Kathy Prossick (Mark) of Odessa Fl, and Bridget Allister (Bill) of Mill Creek WA, her nephews Jeff Lukaszewicz, Robert Lukaszewicz, Justin Lukaszewicz, Matthew Lukaszewicz, and Royce Allister, her nieces Ashley Prossick, Brittany (Smith) Elliott,  Brenda Smith, and Megan Allister.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park, in Hudson Falls.

The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Burgoyne Avenue in the town of Fort Edward.

Maureen’s family would like to thank Glens Falls hospital staff and Home Health Aides for their care of Maureen.
