SOUTH GLENS FALLS – Michael J. Seamon, 66, of South Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at his home.
Born on December 21, 1946, in Saginaw, MI, he was the son of Helen (Hammond) Seamon and the late Roger Seamon.
He was a graduate of Petosky High School in Michigan.
Michael served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
On October 3, 2009, he married Bonnie Taylor at New Life Baptist Church in Hudson Falls.
He retired from Springer Waste Management in Fort Edward.
Michael was a loving father, husband and helpful to anyone who needed help. He enjoyed sports, fishing, camping, hiking, NASCAR and while in high school, he enjoyed playing football.
Being a member of New Life Baptist Church in Hudson Falls was a great joy to Mike. He served on the church’s jail ministry.
Besides his father, he is predeceased by an infant brother David.
In addition to his wife of 4 years, Bonnie (Taylor) Seamon of South Glens Falls, he is survived by his sons, Timothy Seamon of South Glens Falls and Michael Seamon of Crown Point, Indiana; his daughters, Janiece Seamon of South Glens Falls and Jackie Wakefield of Indiana; his mother, Helen (Hammond) Seamon of Petroski, MI; a sister, Cheryl Wilkenson of Oklahoma a brother, Roger Seamon and his wife, Jodi of Petosky, MI and Tim Seamon and his wife, Linda of Gaylord, MI; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his brothers in law, Richard Taylor and his wife, Tara of Katherine, GA and Keith Taylor and Tonya of Gloversville; his mother in law, Elizabeth Taylor of Wells, NY; and his father in law, Paul Taylor of Glens Falls.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at New Life Baptist Church at 62 Main St. in Hudson Falls, with Pastor John Hawkins officiating.
Michael will be returned to his hometown in Michigan after the services.
His family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the New Life Baptists Church Jail ministry, 62 Main St., Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
