FORT ANN- Maurice S. Fredette, 85, of Fort Ann, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long battle with heart disease.
Born on April 24, 1933, in the town of Granville, he was the son of the late Charles and Iva (Sherwin) Fredette.
He joined the US Army and served his country during the Korean War.
His wife, Clara (Winchell) Fredette passed away on March 7, 2015.
Maurice worked as a longtime farmer and logger. He loved the outdoors and tinkering. He was all about family and would do anything for anybody.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Patricia Fuller, Charlotte Crouch and Zillah Redding; and his brother, Dayton “Skip” Fredette.
Survivors include his three children, Charmane (Jack) Fischer of Crossville Tennessee, Lewis Fredette and his fiancé, Tracy Manell of Fort Ann and Rhonda Carney of Fort Ann; his two grandchildren, Jeremy Fredette and Katelyn Fredette; his great grandchild, Layla Conklin; his brother, Clifton Fredette of North Granville, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Wednesday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, Hudson Falls. Prayers will be said at 8 p.m.
On Thursday at 10 a.m. there will be a graveside service at Morningside Cemetery in the town of Hartford with military honors by the American Legion Post 574 of Hudson Falls.
Maurice’s family suggests that donations in Maurice’s name be made to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Drive #100, Albany, NY 12205.
