Matthew A. Nassivera

HUDSON FALLS – Matthew A. Nassivera, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Born on November 1, 1958 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Morris and Anne (Somers) Nassivera.

For many years, Matt was a trainer at Saratoga Race Track. He loved being around his cats, but horses were the joy of his life.  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors and cherished his granddaughter, Bianca.   

Matt had many friends and also took great pride in his cooking. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, GeriAnne and  his brother, Terry.

Survivors include his daughter, Susan Heaney and her husband, Brian of Hudson Falls; his son, Terry Nassivera and his wife, Myra of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Sean, Bianca, Tristan, Marcus and Briar Rose; his siblings, Mark Nassivera and his wife, Pat, Joseph Nassivera, David Nassivera and his wife, Debby and Ann Hope Pugliese and her husband, Rick; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At Matt’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A celebration of his life will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, at Beamers on South Street in Glens Falls.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Animal Foundation of one’s choice.

    Blessings sent from the Shepard family. Phyllis is with us in Michigan now. She mentions how wonderful your family has been over the years. I went through nursing program with Ann Hope.
