HUDSON FALLS – Martin J. Larrow, 90, of Maynard Street and most recently of the Oaks in Fort Edward, passed away, peacefully at his son David and his companion Cathy’s home, on, Sunday, October 4, 2015, with his family by his side.
Born on November 1, 1924 in Proctor, Vermont, he was the son of the late Joseph and Beatrice (Carr) Larrow.
Martin joined the Navy and served his country during World War II, as a machine gunner on a “Liberty Ship”. Martin traveled completely around the world and in every theatre of the war.
When he returned from the war, Martin began working at Griffin Lumber Company as a truck driver. He then joined the carpenter’s union and was employed by many construction companies, all over the United States. Martin became a supervisor for several large companies, such as Brown & Root, retiring in 1993.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his four brothers, Charles, Donald, Richard and Joseph Larrow, his sisters, Jane Thayer-Seymore and Beatrice Rayno.
Survivors include his seven children, Theresa Wood and her husband, James, David Larrow and his companion, Cathy Leahmann, Barbara Birch and her husband, Dwayne, Jeffrey Larrow and his wife, Jan, Jerry Larrow and his wife, Nancy, Janet Brayman and Marie McKinney and her husband, Paul; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandson; his brother, Ken Larrow; his sister, Mage Kokenberg; his brother in law, David Rayno; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours and funeral.
Martin’s family would like to thank the many friends he had at the Oaks for their kindness and friendship for the past several years of his life.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
