FORT MILLER – Linda L. (Brockway) Fish, 79, of Fort Miller, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 11, 1939, in Fort Miller, she was the daughter of the late James and Eunice (Flanders) Brockway.
She married Jeremiah Fish and they shared their lives together, until he passed away on October 24, 2000.
Linda enjoyed working at several area paper mills, where she met many friends. She loved classic country music, especially Willie Nelson. Linda attended so many of his concerts that he recognized her and her family. She even was able to take a tour of his bus.
She also loved her little dog, Olivia. Linda was a kind and generous lady, who would give you the shirt off her back. Her family was the center of her life, especially spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved watching grow up and her great grandchildren who knew her as “Mammie”.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sons in law, Martin Powhida and Millard “Bud” Linendoll and 14 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Linendoll of Greenwich, Jean Powhida and her companion, Roger Campbell of Hudson Falls, Terri Perry of Greenwich and Edward Fish of Fort Miller; her grandchildren, K.C. MacNeil and his wife, Mary, Michael Linendoll and his companion, Emmalee Corlew, Timothy Powhida and his wife, Julianna, Jeffery Powhida and his wife, Rena, James Wood, Edward Wood and his companion, Sabrina, Sara Vernon, Tina Fish and Jennifer Brooks and her husband, Steve; her great grandchildren, Keilana MacNeil, Kadyn MacNeil, Mason MacNeil, A.J. Powhida, Logan Powhida, Kinsey Powhida, Amelya Powhida, Zoey Phillips, Damien Wood, Nero Wood, Brayden Wood, Bradley Louise Wood, Gunnar Pfirman, Damien Parker and Lilith Parker; her siblings, John “Jack” Brockway, Joan Provost and Mark Brockway and his wife, Annette; her brothers and sister in law, James Fish and his wife, Judy, Elizabeth Vicioso and Wray Londaue; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Burial will be in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Fort Miller.
Linda’s family wishes to thank the staff on D-1 at the Saratoga Hospital and all the doctors and nurses and the staff from Community Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Linda and her family.
