QUEENSBURY – Kathryn James, 44, of Woodland Path, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at her home.
Born on August 18, 1972 in Homestead, FL, she was the daughter of Mary (Benoit) Bailey.
Kathryn worked hard and was very proud to have received her high school diploma.
On August 13, 2011, she married the love of her life, Duane Neil James, Jr. in Crandall Park.
When Kathryn was younger, she was employed at Boston Scientific in Queensbury. She worked there for ten years and made many friends.
Kathryn was a very active woman who loved to tend to her flower and vegetable gardens and go fishing with her husband, Duane. She also was a wonderful cook, who could throw together a party in an instant. The holidays were very special to Kathryn, when she would bake tasty treats and spend time with her family. She was a talented seamstress and created beautiful quilts. Kathryn was a spiritual person who enjoyed listening to windchimes and collecting dream catchers.
The center of her life was her family. She was an extraordinary wife, and excellent mother, who was always there as a fantastic listener and ready with good advice. Her grandchildren filled her life with love.

Survivors include her loving husband, Duane Neil James, Jr. of Queensbury; her daughters, Christa Aldrich and her husband, Michael and their son, Stephen, all of Fort Edward, Jessica Sleight and her companion, Shawn Rath of Warrensburg and Rebecca Russell and her husband, Joshua and their daughter, Ellie of Queensbury; her mother, Mary (Benoit) Bailey; her longtime best friend, Andrea Dumas; her sister, Julie Izzo and her husband, Justin; her nieces and nephew, Noah, Autumn and Audrey Izzo; her mother in law, Norma Sleight; her faithful pets, Iggy and Maggie; and several other siblings and good friends.
Friends may call on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 10 to 12, Noon at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon, following the calling hours at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at PineView Cemetery in the town of Queensbury.
The family suggest that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Duane, From my family to yours. In the coming days know that your love has ascended to the halls of the gods. They are welcoming her into their homes, with open arms, full mugs, and her family and friends. A life is not lost if held in the hearts of those who knew her.
