Ian Scott Moreau

Moreau LeftMoreau RightSOUTH GLENS FALLS- Ian Scott Moreau 22, of South Glens Falls, went to be with his grandparents and Godmother in Heaven on Thursday, January 22, 2015. He was accompanied by his partner in crime/bodyguard, Jeremy D. Otruba.

Born on November 21, 1992, in Glens Falls, he was the son of Scott Moreau of Glens Falls, and Mary Beth (Yole) Moreau of South Glens Falls.

Ian was a 2011 graduate of South Glens Falls High School and Southern Adirondack Education Center. He was self-employed as the owner/operator of ISM Trucking, his business employed one employee CEO, Kasey L. Carota.

He was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and St. Joseph’s Church in Fort Edward. Ian enjoyed hunting, fishing, and stunt riding with the Section 518 team. He had a love for any and all outdoor activities.

Ian was predeceased by his grandparents, Oliver and Doris Moreau, and Thomas R. and Patricia W. Yole.

From a very young age it was clear that Ian would be an adventurous individual whom of which would be unstoppable. His work ethic was unparalleled by his peers. His generosity and loyalty for the people in his life was something to be admired, Ian was wise beyond his years. He showed unconditional love and protection to the important women in his life. A standup guy who would go out of his way for anyone.  A humble soul who would hold a door, lend a hand, and protect any good ole boy in need.

His witty one liners could always bring such hearty laughs. “Ya bud”, “Hang to ‘er pard”, “We dem boys”, “Send it!”. He is the definition of the song “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. You would always see him in his work boots and Carhartt’s. But then again when he dressed up and cleaned up, he did it well and was as handsome and clean cut as ever. Because of this we ask that in memory of Ian, the dress code of the calling hours is work attire, jeans, and work boots. We ask that you save your best dressed apparel for the funeral.

Survivors include his father; Scott C. Moreau and spouse Jo-Ann Palmieri; and his mother Mary Beth Yole Moreau and her fiancée, William E McCullen, Sr.; sister, Lauren E. Moreau and her boyfriend Jeremy Mula; brothers, Ryan Patrick Johnson, Harley R. Mackenzie, and Sean Thomas Johnson. His brothers in arms; Matthew Motian, Michael Beshara, and Nicholas LaPoint. Ian is also survived by the absolute love of his life, and someday future wife; Kasey L. Carota and his family to be, Timothy and Kimm Carota, and Taylor Carota. Ian is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ian was also very fortunate to be considered an intricate part of the Johnson family.

Friends may call on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m., at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street, in Hudson Falls and remember that in memory of Ian, the dress code of the calling hours is work attire, jeans, and work boots.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church on park in Hudson Falls, with Father Thomas Babiuch officiating. And again, save your best dressed apparel for the funeral!

The Rite of Committal will take place at a later date in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Fort Edward.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any donations be made to the: Ian S. Moreau Forestry Scholarship Fund. 6 Bluebird Road, South Glens Falls, NY 12803 or Racheal’s Memorials For Children. 39 Oakview Drive, Fort Edward, NY 12828

Dear Mary Beth, Lauren and family,

I was so sorry to hear of Ian’s passing.
I know as teachers we aren’t supposed to pick favorites, but Ian was one of mine. Respectful to all, polite to adults, considerate (he sent me a Thank You card when I lived in Switzerland when I sent him a Get Well card), kind and caring to his peers, would stand up for the underdogs, loved his family and hard working! He was a model student and standup guy in many ways. My thoughts and prayers will be with you daily. And I know Ian is with you all and wanting you to live your lives as he lived his, with joy and living life to the fullest.

Sincerest condolences. I am sorry I am not there to give you a hug.

  9. Dale & Diane Perry says:

Ian was such a positive person – We sold him our Mack truck and he seemed so mature for his age and determined to make his trucking business successful – he talked about his girlfriend and family and we told him if he needed any help along the way to call and he did and we really were glad he ended up with our truck as we had really grown to like him a lot. Having a son just a few years older with the same attitude makes my heart ache for this family that we don’t really know but if they are anything like Ian then they are great! You will be in our hearts and prayers and why God takes the young ones is still a struggle for me to understand and makes me very angry at times but there has to be a reason.

Ian will always occupy a special place in our hearts. I write this in extreme sadness and pray to God for “all” of Ian’s family and loved ones. On behalf of myself, Bernadette, Michael, Matthew we pray. We pain. We hold you all in our minds and our hearts. We love you ALL and always will be thankful for having baby E in our lives.
