QUEENSBURY – Geneva L. Galusha, 82, of Belle Ave., went peacefully into the arms of the Lord, on Saturday, May 27, 2017.
Born on August 7, 1934, in Hudson Falls, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Geneva (LaFarr) Leppard.
She married George R. Galusha on October 21, 1952, and shared over 64 years together until his passing on March 24, 2017.
Faith was an important part of Geneva’s life.
Geneva enjoyed bowling with her husband and sisters, and crocheting.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Stephen George Galusha; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her children, Lynn M. Galusha Dumas of Hudson Falls, Judy A. Ovitt and her husband, Roger Ovitt, Jr. of Gansevoort and John M. Galusha of Queensbury; her grandchildren, Matthew B. Dumas, Richard G. Sheerer, Robert J. Sheerer and his wife, Staycia, Joshua M. Galusha, Amanda E. Ovitt and Roger L. Ovitt, III and his wife, Jessica; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Joseph, Thomas, Robert, Richelle and Derrick Sheerer and Rylee Ovitt; her sisters, Leona Collins, Dorothy Leppard, and Donna Bohlman (Walter); and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Phyllis Manney.
A private burial will be in Pine View Cemetery in the town of Queensbury at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson Falls, 5 River Street, Hudson Falls, NY, 12839, or the American Diabetes Association, 2 Pine West Plaza, Albany, NY 12205.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carleton Funeral Home, Inc. located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
