CONESVILLE – Fritz Kurt Boettcher, age 95, of Robinson Road, passed away on October 27, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 3, 1921, in Magdeburg, Germany, he was the son of the late Friedrich K. and Lucille (Rink) Boettcher.
In Magdeburg, Germany, Fritz attended trade school and became a gunsmith.
Fritz was united in marriage to Emmy Knepper on September 7, 1946, in Paderborn, Germany.
Fritz, along with his wife Emmy, arrived in the United States in 1955 residing in the Bronx. He was employed by Abercrombie and & Fitch from 1957-1976. In the 1960s they moved to Flushing Queens, where they raised their only Son, Rick Boettcher. In 1976 he began working at Griffin & Howe, where he was a Gunsmith and sales manager. After retiring from Griffin & Howe in 1986, Fritz and Emmy moved to Conesville, where he stayed until his wife passed away in 2012. Fritiz moved to Schenectady in 2012 to live with with his son, Rick and daughter-in-law, Kerry Boettcher until his passing.
Fritz loved walking his property in Conesville and relaxing on his porch enjoying his trees. He enjoyed spending time with close friends and eating good German meals at the Hideaway Hotel.
Fritiz was predeceased by his parents, and his wife, Emmy Boettcher.
He is survived by his son, Rick Boettcher, and his daughter-in-law, Kerry Boettcher.
