HUDSON FALLS – Frank J. Desourdy, 84 of Dubes Road, passed on to a better life on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at his home.
Born on September 21, 1931 in Willsboro, NY, he was the son of the late Harry and Gertrude (Clark) Desourdy.
On April 10, 1953, he married Edwina Stratton. She passed away on December 28, 2008, after 55 wonderful years of marriage.
For over 30 years, Frank was employed at Ciba Geigy, formerly in Queensbury. While working at Ciba Geigy, he also helped out on several area dairy farms. After his retirement, Frank went back to work at many catheter manufacturers in the surrounding area.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed tending to his garden and taking care of his yard. Frank also spent many hours building all sorts of nic knacks. He was a hard worker and a dedicated father to his seven children.
Besides his parents and wife, Frank was predeceased by his son, William Desourdy, his brother, John and his sisters, Harriett, Clara and Lillian.
Survivors include his six children, Naomi Saville and her husband, Paul of Honeyford, North Dakota, Sabrina Pharmer of Hudson Falls, Roberta Hull of Hudson Falls, Joseph Desourdy and his wife, Connie of Glens Falls, Henry Desourdy, Sr. and his wife, Carol of Hudson Falls and Timothy Desourdy also of Hudson Falls; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; his brother, Marvin Desourdy and his wife, Margie of Hudson Falls; his sister in law, Verna Desourdy of Hudson Falls; his brothers in law, Avery Planty of Pikeville, North Carolina and Lester Valyer of Gansevoort; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful dogs, Angel and Demon.
At Frank’s request, there will be no services.
Burial will be in Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
The family suggests that donations in Frank’s memory be made to Diabetes Association, Pine West Plaza, Building 2, Suite 204, Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12205 or the Alzheimer’s Association, Adirondack Office, P.O. 4091, Queensbury, NY 12804.
Frank’s family wishes to thank Fort Hudson Social Day Care nurses for their help and their patience with Dad.
