FORT EDWARD – Edward James Vincent, 88, of The Oaks in Fort Edward, died on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Glens Falls Hospital after 11 days of illness.
Born on February 14, 1926, in Whitehall, NY, he was the son of the late Benjaiman and Annabelle (Marcelle) Vincent.
Edward graduated from Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army as a Private 1st Class in the European theatre of operations.
On November 9, 1947, he married Kathleen Kernan in Akron Ohio.
Edward worked for General Electric and Knolls Atomic Power Lab (KAPL) as a Class A. Electrician. He retired in 1988.
His enjoyments included coin collecting, bowling, collecting steins and traveling in his motor home.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Kathleen M. Vincent who passed away in 1999.
Survivors include his daughter, Diane MacIntosh and her husband Doug; his son, Bruce Vincent and his wife, Connie and Bruce’s stepdaughter and step son, Megan and Ted Dreger; his brother, Kenneth Vincent; and his cousin Berly Vincent and his wife, Diane
There are no calling hours, and services are private.
Interment will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in the town of Stillwater.
