HUDSON FALLS – Dorothy L. Gordon, 72, of Liberty Place, went into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014, at the Glens Falls Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Whitehall, she was the daughter of Armand and Ethel (Gandrow) Gordon.
Miss Gordon worked with the mentally disabled in this area for 10 years.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church in Hudson Falls and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Hudson Falls American Legion Post 574 Auxiliary.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She enjoyed playing the guitar, singing (yodeling being a favorite), dancing, doing handiwork, and spending time with her church.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by, two brothers, Mickey Gordon and Richard Gordon, her sister, Patricia Guinup.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Meade of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kevin Dickinson, II, Kimberly Dickinson and Heather Meade; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Virginia Bloch and her husband, Bernie, of Albuquerque, NM, Ethel Phillips of Moriahville and Alice Myers of Schenectady; five brothers, Thomas Gordon and his wife, Elaine of Idaho, William Gordon of Schenectady, Armand Gordon, Charles Gordon and his wife, Patricia, of Rotterdam and David Gordon and his wife, Joyce of Scotia; 42 nieces and nephews and several cousins.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main St., Hudson Falls.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at St. Mary’s/St. Paul’s Church, on the park, in Hudson Falls.
