QUEENSBURY – Deborah A. (Holcomb) Thaxton, 60, of Queensbury, passed away on Sunday April 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, at her home.
Born on November 17, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Holcomb Sr. and Vivian (Millington) (Holcomb)Hewitt. She attended Glens Falls School.
Debbie loved music, horses, fishing, bowling, dancing, singing karaoke and spending time with her loved ones. In recent years she was a DJ with her son BJ and her husband, Bernie. Many know her from the Knights of Columbus in Queensbury, where she charmed her way into many hearts and made numerous friendships. Her friends and family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her grandparents, Clayton and Leneta (Fuller) Millington, her uncle Arnold “Bud” Millington of Rhode Island and her three older brothers, Charles “Chuck” Jr., Anthony and John Holcomb.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Bernie Thaxton Jr., her children, Autumn (Dunn) Johnson and her husband, Scott, Tiffany Mack and her husband, Mike, Michael Morro, BJ Thaxton and her “step daughter”, Tyanne Mead, her uncle, Daniel Holcomb and his wife,
Janet of Warrensburg, her aunt, Dorothy Millington of Rhode Island, her grandchildren, Karisa Heym, Kristina Tennant, Joshua Heym, Dylan Mack, Azriel Mack, Emma Mack and Amber Mack, several nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was particular close to her cousin, Connie Blackmer and her children. Debbie also leaves behind her loving dogs, Bandit and Ziggy.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m., following the calling hours at the funeral home, with the Rev. Colleen Lyon, officiating.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 101 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801 or the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205-5512.
