QUEENSBURY- David R. Greene, 69, of Queensbury, formerly of North Creek, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Glens Falls Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Born August 4, 1951 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Rollin and Marie (AuClaire) Greene and father of his late infant son, Daniel, and his wife, Nancy Greene.
David graduated in 1970 from Johnsburg Central School and attended two years of college. He retired from Curtis Lumber in Warrensburg as laborer but worked for many years in the lumber business as a grader.
David was a 25-year member of the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department and a 25-year level 3 critical care tech. for North Warren EMS. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Cortina Greene and her boyfriend, John and Cortina’s son, Odin; his daughter, Ashley Barber and her husband, Joseph; his son, Geoffrey Greene and his fiancé, Brenda, and Geoffrey’s daughter, Reagan. Also, he is survived by his ex-wife, Hazel Greene; his aunts, Dorothy Jurgens and Esther AuClaire; his brother, Ron and sister in law, Barbara; a niece, Kelly St Jean; a nephew, Michael Greene; and David’s faithful companion, his Yorkie, Sara.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the King, 685 Bay Rd., in Queensbury, Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 1 p.m.
Inurnment will take place in the spring, at Pottersville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his son, Daniel.

It was a pleasure to get to know David. His love for the Lord and his family and friends was inspirational. I loved his quiet sense of humor. I pray for peace and comfort for his family.

Sorry we can’t be there for the service, I was always hoping to ride motorcycles together, but I guess we’ll have to wait till I get to heaven too.
